Description
This is a mid-18th century monument located approximately 8 meters south of the south transept in the churchyard of Hambleden. It commemorates members of the Lane family and is constructed of ashlar stone. The monument has a square shape with recessed corners, featuring a moulded plinth and cornice. At the top, there is a pyramid stone cap with recessed corners and a ball finial. The base is accessed by three stone steps. Inscriptions on the sides honor Richard Lane of Poynatts, who died in 1730; Richard Lane of Millend, who died in 1789; Rd. Lane of Millend, who died in 1785; and Elizabeth, the wife of Rd. Lane, who died in 1745.
