Description
Nos. 59 and 60 are two houses that underwent remodelling in the early to mid-late 19th century, although they are based on an older building. The left side features a gabled projecting bay made of flint with brick dressings from the mid-late 19th century, while the two bays to the right are earlier 19th-century brick with dentil eaves. The houses have an old tile roof and brick chimneys, and they are two storeys tall with three bays. The windows are wooden casements with single horizontal glazing bars; the first floor left window is a two-light, while the others are three-light. The ground floor windows and those in the right bay have segmental heads. A 20th-century door has been inserted to the left of the centre bay, and there is another door in a narrow brick lean-to at the right end. There is a blocked doorway between the right bays. The rear of the building features four brick gables. Although the interior was not seen, it is said to contain remains of a timber-framed structure. This listing is included for its group value.
