Description

Nos. 143, 144, and 145 are a row of three houses located in Hambleden Village. Nos. 144 and 145, on the right, date from around 1800, while No. 143, on the left, was built in the mid-19th century. The houses at 144 and 145 are constructed of red brick with incised line pointing and feature dentil eaves. They have an old tile roof and brick chimneys positioned to the right and between the left bays. These two houses are two storeys high and consist of three bays. They have three-light wooden casement windows, with the left bay having glazing bars and the right bay featuring 20th-century glazing. The ground floor windows have segmental heads. There is a two-light wooden casement window on the first floor between the right bays, above a door with two long moulded panels and a 20th-century wooden porch. The left house has a four-panelled door with a 20th-century wire trellis porch.

No. 143 is made of chequer brick, has flat eaves, a slate roof, and a brick chimney on the left. It is two storeys high and consists of one bay. This house features four-light wooden casement windows with horizontal glazing bars and stop-chamfered frames. To the right, there is a half-glazed door with a stop-chamfered frame, and the ground floor openings also have segmental heads. These buildings are included for their group value.
