Description
Mason's House is a mid-18th century house located in Marsh Gibbon. It is built of coursed rubble stone with a slate roof and features flanking brick chimneys. The house has an L-plan layout, is two storeys high with an attic and cellar, and consists of three bays. The ground floor has barred sash windows with stone voussoir heads, while the first floor has timber lintels above its windows. There is a blocked window in the cellar. The house also features three gabled dormers, each with paired casements. The central entrance is a six-panelled door that is half-glazed, topped with a rectangular fanlight and a flat wooden hood supported by cut brackets. To the right, there is a two-storey extension that is set forward in alignment with Townsend Farmhouse; this extension has paired casements on the ground floor and a sash window above. The rear wing includes wooden casements and a two-panelled door.
