Description

Townsend Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th to early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with timber lintels above the openings. The roof is covered with old tiles and features flanking brick stacks. There is a buttress at the right-hand front corner. The building stands two storeys tall with an attic and has three bays. The windows are wooden mullion and transom types that have been altered to accommodate casements with horizontal glazing bars. There are three gabled dormers, each with paired casements. The central entrance has a 20th-century door. To the right-hand gable, there is a single-storey, one-bay extension that is set back.
