Description
Chestnut Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubblestone, which is colourwashed, and features old tile roofs. There is a rear addition built around 1980 in brick, also with old tile roofs. The house has two bays, with a central half bay that was formerly the entrance, and an off-centre one bay rear wing, followed by a modern extension. It is 1½ storeys high and has three two-light casement windows, along with gabled eaves dormers on the upper storey. There is a right-hand flanking stack. The rear wing includes dormers on each side and an end stack, while the modern wing has dormers and casement windows. Inside, there are chamfered spine beams, some of which have stops and are likely reused. There is also a timber-framed wall between the 18th-century wings.
