Description

Beverley Cottage is a house dating back to the 15th century, with alterations and extensions in the 17th and late 17th/early 18th centuries. The exterior is colourwashed roughcast over a timber frame, with the frame visible in the right-hand bay and the left gable. The central bays feature three cruck trusses. The roof is thatched, with a half-hip to the left and a hip to the right. Brick chimneys are positioned to the left and centre of the building. The house is 1½ storeys and 4 bays wide, exhibiting an irregular appearance. Modern leaded casement windows are set into the thatch; two windows are present on the first floor. A 20th-century lean-to projection with a tiled roof and a half-glazed door is situated in the left-hand bay, sheltered by a thatched hood. The right-hand bay has no windows.
