Description

71 Friarage Road is a mid-19th century building, dating from around 1857, designed by George Devey as the schoolhouse for the adjacent St Mary's Church of England School. The building has undergone some alterations. It features red brick main walls with yellow brick diapering, a square rubble base, and upper walls that are colour washed pebbledash. The roof is red tiled and gabled, with diagonally set shafts grouped above red brick chimney stacks. The structure is two storeys high with an irregular plan, and it has casement windows that are flush set, some of which include wood mullions and transoms.
