Description
St Osyth's is a former Prebendal Farm located on the north side of Parson's Fee. The house dates from the 17th to 18th century, while the central barn, which is part of the house, dates from the 16th and 17th centuries. There is also a barn to the south from the 17th century. The buildings are all connected and follow the curve of the road.
The house is two storeys with an attic, constructed of colourwashed brick on a projecting chamfered plinth. It features a string course at the first floor level and a moulded brick eaves cornice, topped with an old tile roof. There are two hipped dormers with two-light leaded casements. The first floor has five windows, all of which are four-light mullioned and transomed with modern lights. On the ground floor, there are four similar segmental-headed windows, each with four-panel shutters, and a six-panel door to the left in a plain frame, complete with a frieze and cornice hood.
The two barns are timber framed with colourwashed brick infilling and an old tile roof, and they are lower than the house, consisting of four bays. The interior of the house retains contemporary doors and fireplaces. The barns now appear to have been incorporated into the dwelling.
