Description

Bag Hill Farm is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with an 18th-century west bay. The building features witchert on a rubble plinth and roughcast on the road front. The ground floor of the west bay is made of rubblestone, leading to a lower single-storey outbuilding that is also constructed of rubble and witchert. The farmhouse has three bays and is 1½ storeys tall, with an additional one storey plus attic in the west bay. The roofs are covered with old tiles.

The street-facing side has a door located between the left-hand bays and features three-light leaded casements on the ground floor. Above, there are three 2-light leaded gabled eaves dormers. The gables are made of brick and sit above band courses, with a stack positioned between the right-hand bays and at the west gable. The west bay has a half-hipped gable that projects in front of the house, along with a 2-light leaded casement and a gable casement. The outbuilding has a weatherboarded gable.

Inside the 17th-century section, there are chamfered and stopped spine beams, an inglenook fireplace, and old board doors. The garden wall to the east has a rubblestone lower half and a witchert upper part, topped with tiled coping and a concrete slate ridge. In front of the house, there are cast iron railings with spearhead standards.
