Description
No. 7 High Street is a house built in the late 18th century, which was altered to a double pile layout around 1840. It features chequered brickwork with a moulded band course at the first floor, raised eaves, and a rendered plinth. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, and there are irregular brick chimneys. The house has two storeys and an attic, with three bays. The windows are three-pane sashes with cambered heads, and there is a small single light window between the left ground floor bays. The two hipped dormers each have small paired wooden casements. The central bay contains a half-glazed door set in plain reveals, framed by a mid-19th century rendered surround that includes a moulded pediment and pilaster strips. The left side of the house is partly rendered, while the right side features some rubble stone and a single-storey 20th-century extension. Both side walls have second floor band courses near the bays.
