Description
The White Swan is a public house located on High Street in Whitchurch. The main block dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of chequer brick with blue headers, featuring a rendered plinth. It has an old tiled roof and flanking brick chimneys. The building is two storeys high and has two bays. It includes three-light wooden casements with cambered heads and a central blind panel above the door that displays a painted inn sign. To the right, there is a wrought iron bracket for a hanging sign positioned over a water pump encased in wood. To the right, a single-storey bay is made of red brick with a half-hipped thatched roof and paired wooden casements. The two bays to the left are built of coursed rubble stone, topped with a hipped tiled roof and a central brick chimney. These bays are one storey high and feature two paired wooden casements and a central single light. There are lean-to extensions at the rear.
