Description

The Majors is a house dating from the 17th century, with extensions added around 1980. The bay facing the road is timber framed with plastered and colourwashed infill, while the rear bay is constructed of wattle and daub (wichert) with colourwashing and rendering. A rendered addition from around 1980 extends to the rear. The roof is covered in concrete plain tiles.

The house is two storeys with a 1½ storey rear addition set to the north. The timber-framed bay shows evidence of earlier mullioned windows on the north side, which are now blocked. The front elevation, with a half-hipped gable, features a small modern lean-to porch and a casement window above. The south elevation has a ground floor casement and a two-light casement window to the front floor. All windows have leaded lights. The modern bay has casement windows and rooflights on its north-facing roof pitch, featuring extended eaves. A central chimney stack is present.
