Description
The barn at Shogmoor is a former agricultural building that has been converted into a house. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and underwent alterations in the early 1980s. The structure features flint base walls with brick dressings and a timber frame that is clad in weatherboarding above. It has an old tiled roof and a 20th-century brick chimney. The barn consists of five bays.
On the east side, there is a central gabled projection made of flint and brick, where weatherboarding has replaced the original cart doors. Lean-to extensions are present on the flanking bays. The west side features a large central window that has taken the place of the cart doors, with 20th-century barred wooden casements in the remaining openings. The upper windows are located in gabled eaves-line dormers. There are three 20th-century doors. The interior includes queen strut trusses with some braces to the tie beams. This building is included for its group value.
