Description

Flint Cottage comprises two houses with a 17th-century rear wing and an early 19th-century house built across its front. The rear wing has a timber frame with brick infill visible in the rear gable, although largely rebuilt in flint with brick dressings, and is pebble-dashed to the first floor on the left side. It has an old tile roof and a brick chimney to the right. The interior retains timber framing in cross walls. At one time, the property was used as a lace school. The early 19th-century wing is constructed of flint with brick dressings, has dentil eaves, and an old tile roof with a brick chimney to the left. It is two storeys high and two bays wide, featuring 20th-century rectangular bay windows on the ground floor—the one to the right has a roof carried over the central door—and paired wooden casements to the first floor on the left, alongside a four-pane sash window to the right.
