Description
The screen of gates, railings, and piers at the west entrance to Bradenham Manor, along with the wall to the north of the forecourt, is likely from the early 18th century and has undergone significant repairs. The screen features central gate piers made of brick panels, which are surrounded by stone architraves, moulded stone cornices, and topped with ball finials. Attached to these piers and at each end of the screen are stone pilasters adorned with carved scrolls. There are also smaller intermediate stone piers with moulded cornices, brick dwarf walls with cement coping, and iron railings. The wrought iron carriage gates and pedestrian gate are decorated with fleur-de-lys and twisted spear finials, as well as scroll ornamentation. The wall is constructed from red and vitreous brick, topped with tiled coping and pitched to the rear, and includes a door to the churchyard featuring a gauged brick head.
