Description
The White House is a house dating from around 1800, which features a refronting of an older building. The front is rendered and whitewashed, showcasing a dentil cornice and a stone-coped battlemented parapet. The gable ends are made of brick, with band courses, and the right gable is whitewashed. It has a steeply pitched slate roof with a rendered central chimney. At the rear, there is a parallel range constructed of brick and flint, topped with a tiled roof and brick chimneys.
The house is two storeys high with a five-bay Gothick front. The windows have four-centred arched heads, wooden 'Y' tracery, and narrow arched glazing bars. The central bay features a two-storey projecting porch with canted corners and a taller battlemented parapet. The porch includes a half-glazed door with Gothick glazing, a four-centred arch, and a wooden doorcase. The doorcase is adorned with panelled pilasters, a frieze with elongated quatrefoils, and a small cornice hood supported by shaped scroll brackets. Above the door is a small round window, and there is a lean-to structure to the right. The rear range has irregular gables and some old leaded windows. The interior has not been seen.
