Description
The Old Post Office is a late 18th-century house situated on Dark Lane in Wingrave with Rowsham. The house is constructed of chequer brick with a moulded plinth and eaves, and has an old tile roof with a central brick chimney. It is two storeys and an attic, with two bays. The windows are 19th-century wooden casements; a two-light window is on the left, and a three-light window on the right, with cambered heads to the ground-floor windows. A central entrance features a six-panelled door with a wooden cornice hood supported on cut brackets, and a blind window panel above. The left gable has a four-light leaded casement on the ground floor, and 19th-century wooden casements above: a three-light window to the first floor, and a two-light window to the attic. A later 19th-century brick range with a slate roof, two storeys and four irregular bays, is attached to the north side.
