Description

Ivy Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 17th century, originally consisting of two bays, with extensions added to the east in 1626 and a single bay extension in 1718. The 1718 addition projects forward to the left of the main house. The house is timber-framed with brick infill, largely of thin brick. The front gable of the projection was rebuilt in brick in the 19th century, while the ground floor of the right-hand bays were rebuilt in brick in the 18th century. The roof is tiled, featuring thin brick chimneys between the left bays and centrally, with later brick chimneys to the right and at the junction with the projection.

The house is one storey with an attic. The projection has four-pane sash windows with arched heads. The second bay has a three-light wooden casement window on the ground floor and a sash window within a gabled dormer in the eaves. The right-hand bays incorporate 20th-century three-light leaded casement windows, with similar dormers over the first floor. A two-panel door is located to the left of the second bay, set within a lean-to porch. An outbuilding, constructed of brick and weatherboard with a tiled roof, adjoins the right side of the house.
