Description
Nos. 11 and 11A on Sheep Street are a pair of houses that feature an early to mid-19th century refronting of an older building. The right-hand gable is timber framed with brick infill, while the rest of the structure is rendered and colourwashed. The houses have boarded eaves supported by small cut brackets, a slate roof, and a brick stack on the right gable along with a rendered stack at the center. There is a minimal rendered band course and flanking pilaster strips.
The buildings are two storeys high with four bays. They have 4-pane sash windows, with three on the ground floor and four on the first floor, the latter featuring wooden architrave surrounds. The left-hand bay contains a 20th-century door, while a four-panelled, half-glazed door in the center is set back in a panelled recess, surrounded by minimal pilasters and a plain cornice hood on scroll brackets. At the rear of No. 11A, there is a lean-to with paired leaded casements. A long wing at right angles to the rear of No. 11 is not of special interest.
