Description

No. 11 West Street is an 18th-century front applied to an older building. It is two storeys high and constructed of vitreous brick with red brick dressings. A moulded brick cornice runs along the top of the front, returning short of the corners, with a parapet above. The roof is covered in old tiles. There are three windows, each with architrave frames set within raised brick surrounds that extend to the cornice. A good 19th-century shop front features two three-light windows and a central half-glazed door, all set under a plain frieze and cornice. Nos. 1 to 21 (odd) and the Ship Inn form a group.
