Description

The Cottage is an early 18th-century cottage, originally a pair of dwellings. It is located on the north side of the west edge of Marsh Gibbon. The building is constructed of whitewashed rubble stone with timber lintels, and has a thatched roof, with brick stacks to the gables and between the right-hand bays. It is a 1½-storey, 3-bay structure, with the bay to the left being a later addition. It features barred wooden casement windows; a 3-light window is on the ground floor of the left-hand bays and in the upper central position, whilst a 2-light window is in the upper left. The right-hand bay is blank, with windows in the gable end. There is a ledged board door positioned between the right-hand bays.
