Description

Great Greenstreet Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. The southwest range is partially timber-framed with an old tile roof, while the remainder is constructed of red and plum brick with a slate roof. A north-east range, built around 1840 as part of the Bedford Estate, is in yellow stock brick with a slate roof. A tiled verandah, supported by rustic posts, is situated in the angle of the L-shaped plan. The house is two storeys high, featuring a mix of sash windows and casement windows. The interior of the two timber-framed bays exhibits cambered tie beams to queen strut trusses, with curved braces to the purlins and the intermediate tie beam.
