Description
The gate piers and flank walls at the main gate to Cliveden were built around 1893 and designed alongside the Main (Feathers) Lodge. They feature stone piers with pilasters, alternating courses of diamond-cut stones, and decorative vases with covers and swags. The entrance is marked by elaborate wrought iron carriage gates and an overthrow. The curved flank walls each contain a pedestrian gate, also with wrought iron gates. The walls have straight end sections that finish with piers topped with balls on pedestals. These structures were made by Singer of Frome.
