Description
Old Thatch is a house located on Coldmoorholm Lane in Little Marlow. It has an early to mid-18th century core and was extended in the 19th century, with additional flanking extensions from the 20th century. The three older central bays are constructed of whitewashed brick, flint, and plaster, featuring some slight timber framing at the rear and in the internal walls. The 20th-century extensions are also made of whitewashed brick. The house has thatched roofs and a brick chimney, and it is one storey with an attic. The windows are mostly 20th-century casements, many of which are leaded, with the upper windows set in thatched dormers. There is a 20th-century door approximately in the center and 20th-century French doors to the left. Inside, there is a re-used 16th to 17th-century moulded stone fireplace with a four-centred arch. The house is noted for its association with Enid Blyton, who lived there from 1928 to 1938.
