Description

No. 2 Market Square is a restaurant dating from around 1840, with some alterations. The building features whitewashed render, channelled pilasters at the corners and between the right bays on the ground floor, and moulded eaves. It has an old tiled roof and stands two storeys high. The first floor contains four bays of 19th-century sash windows set in rendered architrave surrounds. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front with leaded lights on the left, and to the right, there are board doors along with a six-panelled door that serves as the entrance to the adjacent Whiteleaf Cross public house. This building is included for its group value.
