Description
This is an 18th-century house, likely rebuilt from a late 16th or 17th-century dwelling, and now divided into four separate units. The two-storey building with an attic has a pebble-dashed front and is arranged in four bays, separated by piers that extend over the first-floor windows with a string course. A small parapet tops the facade, and the roof is covered with old tiles. Three dormers are present, each containing a double window with a moulded ogee head. A three-light window, with each light featuring an ogee head, is located in the second bay from the right. Modern doors are grouped in pairs and protected by pent roof porches. The poet Shelley resided at the property from March 1817 to February 1818. The property is part of a group with the entrance gates to the Borlase School and number 104, and also forms a group with the Borlase School itself.
