Description
Chanters is an early 18th-century building located on the southeast side of West Street. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of vitreous brick with red dressings. The façade features string courses at the first and second floor levels, a bracketed cornice, and a parapet with stone coping. The roof is covered with old tiles and the front has four bays. To the right, there is a six-panel door with a rectangular fanlight above it, which has a modern leaded design. This is set within a painted surround that includes an architrave with rusticated blocks and a triple keystone, all beneath a modern segmental hood supported by panelled pilasters on cut brackets. There is also a modern extension to the right.
