Description
Ivy Cottage is a small house dating from the 17th century, with some parts refaced in the 19th century. It has an L-shaped plan, featuring a small rear wing constructed with a timber frame and brick infill, while the main section is built of 19th-century brick. The roofs are thatched, with the eastern end of the main range having a half-hipped design. There are brick chimneys, and the house is 1½ storeys tall. The main range has three bays, with the left bay being blank. The right bays feature leaded casements, with a three-light window on the ground floor and a two-light window in the thatch above. There are two boarded doors, and all ground floor openings have segmental heads. To the right, there is a later single-storey extension consisting of one bay, made of brick and weatherboard, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The rear wing includes a bay with three-light leaded casements, and the first-floor window is set in a gabled dormer with thatch swept around it.
