Description

The Chequers Inn is a public house that dates from the 18th century or early 19th century, with remnants of a 17th-century wing at the northern end. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a slate roof with a projecting chimney on the south gable. It has two storeys and two bays of sash windows, with a tripartite arrangement on the ground floor. A central modern gabled porch provides the entrance. The northern wing is timber framed and has an old tiled roof, while an attached wing to the west is also timber framed but has a modern sheet roof.
