Description

A row of three cottages dating from the early 18th and early 19th centuries. Number 17, on the right-hand side, is constructed of thin red and vitreous brick with an offset plinth and a first-floor band course. It has a rear wing of coursed rubble stone. The roof is tiled, with a brick chimney featuring projecting nibs on the left side, and a 20th-century brick chimney on the front right. The ground floor has a four-pane sash window to the left and a 19th-century canted bay window to the right. Above are three-light leaded casement windows. A door is on the left side in the early 19th-century bay. Numbers 15 and 16 are of early 19th-century pale chequer brick, with dentil eaves, a tiled roof, and a central brick chimney. They are two storeys high and three bays wide. The windows are paired casements, with some having small leaded lights and others with 20th-century glazing. Small single windows are located between the left bays. A boarded door is on the left, and 20th-century doors are on the right. The ground floor openings have segmental heads. The interior of Number 17 features chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
