Description

Rose Cottage is a house dating from around 1770, located on The Green in Brill. The house is constructed primarily of vitreous brick with red brick detailing for quoins, window surrounds, and vertical strips. It features a moulded brick plinth, a gauged band course at the first floor level, and a modillion eaves cornice. The left gable is built of chequer brick, while the right gable is of coursed rubble stone. The roof is covered in old tiles, and a brick chimney with a moulded top is located on the left side.

The house is two storeys high and three bays wide. It has paired, barred wooden casement windows with gauged brick heads. The central window on the ground floor is narrower and is positioned above a six-panelled door, which is top-lit and has a wooden cornice hood supported by shaped brackets. A 20th-century conservatory has been added to the left side of the house. Former outbuildings, attached to the rear left corner, are now part of the main house. A 20th-century extension exists at the rear.
