Description

The Old Swan is a late 17th-century house, altered subsequently. The ground floor is constructed of semi-dressed limestone, with an upper storey of thin brick in English bond below the window sill level, and later brick above. An altered plinth and a brick band course run along the first floor. The roof is covered in old tiles and is hipped on the right side. A chimney of thin brick, decorated with 'V' shaped nibs, sits between the right bays. The house is two storeys high and three bays wide. It has wooden casement windows, with single horizontal glazing bars; the ground floor right bays have three-light windows, while the others are two-light. A 20th-century door is positioned between the right bays. A lean-to and gabled extension are present at the rear. Early 19th-century wrought iron railings are attached to the front left corner.
