Description
No. 18 Market Hill, formerly known as The Old Fleece Inn, is an inn that has been converted into a shop and store. It dates back to the 17th century, with earlier origins, and has been significantly altered in the 20th century. The building is rendered, possibly over a timber frame, and features a plain-tile roof. It is designed in an L-shape and has two storeys plus an attic, with a two-window range. There is a carriageway on the far left side. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front, while the first floor includes a 20th-century two-light window and a dormer window on the far left with a sloping roof. There is also a flat-roofed dormer window in the center. At the rear, the carriageway leads to a large chamfered spine beam and a stop-chamfered wood lintel.
