Description
Hill Farmhouse is a house that has undergone some rebuilding and extension in the 20th century, particularly on the lower part to the left, which includes part of one cruck blade and two chamfered spine beams. The taller bay to the right dates from the late 16th to 17th century and features a concealed timber frame with curved braces. The exterior is rendered and colourwashed, with the left bays topped by a 20th-century tiled roof, while the right bay has a thatched roof with a chimney partly made of thin brick on the left. The house has one storey and an attic, making it 1½ storeys high, and consists of three bays. The left bays have 20th-century three-light metal casements, with attic windows in eaves-line dormers. The right bay features a 19th-century three-light wooden casement on the ground floor and two paired wooden casements in the thatch, one of which has imitation leading. There is a lobby entry to the left with a six-panelled door that is top-lit, situated in a 20th-century gabled timber and glazed porch. Inside, the ground floor room to the right contains some re-used panels from the 16th to early 17th century, a panelled door, and a winder staircase with shaped splat balusters leading to the landing.
