Description
The former Wesleyan Chapel, now known as Haddenham Methodist Church, is a Methodist church built in 1822. It features witchert construction that is rendered and colourwashed, set on a rubblestone plinth. The west front, which faces the street, is made of rubblestone with brick dressings, while the upper storey and gable are also rendered and colourwashed. The roof is slate.
The three-bay street front has a central six-panel double door framed by a reeded architrave and topped with a radiating fanlight. On either side of the door are tall arched windows, each containing two sashes. Above these, there is a band course and three additional arched windows. The gable includes a band and a blind arched recess, with keyblocks accentuating the arches. A date stone above the central first-floor window reads "Wesleyan Chapel 1822." The building has two storeys at the west end, leading to a full-height chapel, and features a modern first-floor window on the south side. This chapel is part of a small group of witchert churches located west of Aylesbury.
