Description
No. 15 High Street is a house dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and the 19th century. The right or east bay is constructed of witchert on a rubble plinth, which is colourwashed and rendered. The left bay is made of coursed rubblestone with brick dressings, also colourwashed, while the street elevation features colourwashed brick. The north wing is built of rubblestone with brick dressings, all colourwashed, and the building has old tile roofs.
The house consists of two bays with a gable end facing the road, and a one-bay north wing that also fronts the road. It is two storeys high, with the main part having an attic. The right bay has four-pane box sashes, while the left bay features two-pane Victorian sashes. There is a central stack made of old thin brick with a corbelled cap. The street gable elevation includes three-pane sashes. The rear wing has sashes and a door under a shallow gabled hooded porch. To the east, there is a single-storey wing with a pantiled roof.
