Description

Pankridge Farmhouse is a house dating back to the 17th century, with significant rebuilding in the late 18th and early 19th century, and further alterations and extensions in the 20th century. The exterior is now primarily flint and brick, with a brick band course marking the first floor. The roof is tiled, and there are brick chimneys on the left and between the right bays. The house has a T-plan, with a rear wing likely added in the 18th century, and 20th-century extensions to the right. It is 1 1/2 storeys high, with three bays. The upper storey features 20th-century Venetian windows with small gables. The ground floor of the right bays has 20th-century four-light wooden casements with segmental heads. A lean-to addition with a 20th-century door and window is on the front of the left bay; a blocked doorway with a small diamond-shaped window sits between the right bays. Inside, the left bays display timber framing with curved braces. The centre bay has stop-chamfered joists and ogee wind-braces. A re-used chamfered spine beam and joists are found in the right bay.
