Description

Slough Bottom Farmhouse is an early to mid-18th century house situated in a rural setting near West Wycombe. The house is constructed of flint with brick dressings and has an old tile roof, punctuated by a central brick chimney with attached shafts. It is two storeys and an attic, with two bays. The exterior features a plinth, a first floor band course, and wide brick quoins. The ground floor has a large barred horizontal sliding sash window on the left-hand side, and a three-light barred wooden casement with a segmental relieving arch on the right. The first floor has similar two-light casements, and a blind window panel in the centre. A central six-panelled door is sheltered by a gabled timber and slate hood. The gables each have paired barred wooden casements with segmental relieving arches. An outshot is located at the rear. Inside, the house contains an inscription on a post reading ‘Erected 1734 by William Culper’.
