Description
Castle Mill House is a house built in the early 19th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a hipped slate roof with a brick internal stack. The house has a double-depth plan and is three stories tall, with a three-window range. The central door is approached by three stone steps and has a fanlight and a round-arched head set in a shallow recess, also with a round-arched head. All floors have sash windows, each with gauged brick heads. The window above the door on the first floor is set in a similar recess, while the second-floor window is in a recess with a segmental-arched head. The building has a plinth and giant strip pilasters at either end, as well as flanking the center, which have Tuscan capitals. These support sections of an entablature and a deep bracketed cornice made of rubbed brick. There is a plain eaves band above. The left side elevation has two bays with similar windows, pilasters, and cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
