Description
The tower to the north of the Church of St Mary of Eton was built in 1911-12 by Cecil Hare. It is a tall square tower consisting of three stages, featuring an octagonal, taller staircase turret on the southeast side. The tower is constructed of red brick with stone dressings that step in slightly at the corners. It has a battlemented parapet adorned with traceried panels and horizontal stone banding at the top stage. The large bell-openings are decorated with flamboyant tracery. Additionally, a flying buttress extends from the tower and rests on the roof of the Mission Hall to the west. The tower, the Church of St Mary of Eton, the Mission Hall, and Eton House together form a cohesive group.
