Description
The north wing of the Convent of Sacred Heart is a late 18th century or early 19th century building that stands three storeys tall with an attic and features five windows. It is constructed of stock brick and has a stuccoed frieze and cornice, along with a tall brick parapet that is topped with balustrading at the window spaces. The roof is a slated mansard style with three flat dormers. The windows are adorned with gauged flat brick arches, with the upper sashes featuring glazing bars and the lower sections being casements. The ground floor windows are set within round arcading, which has gauged round brick arches and a stone impost band. The building is now nearly surrounded by later convent buildings, making the entrance difficult to see.
