Description
Garshill Farmhouse and the adjoining ramp barn are likely from the 18th century, with the barn being slightly newer than the house. The farmhouse is constructed of wet-dashed rubble, while the barn is made of stone blocks that decrease in size as they rise. Both buildings feature graduated slate roofs and are two storeys tall, with the barn being slightly taller.
The farmhouse has a four-bay layout, with a plank door located in a gabled porch. To the right, there are two sash windows, and to the left, there is one sash window on each floor. The house also has stone chimneys positioned at the middle and ends. The adjoining barn, which has a four-bay design, includes a cart entrance accessed by a ramp at the centre rear. Its front elevation features three byre doors with a winnowing door above, all made of planks. The barn is finished with stone copings and kneelers.
