Description
Stonehouse Bridge is a public road bridge over the River Dee, likely built in the 17th century and altered and enlarged in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a narrow segmental arch with rubble voussoirs, which are particularly large at the springing. The bridge has squinches on the south side of the east end and the north side of the west end, supporting a widened roadway that navigates sharp bends to the south and north. The parapets are topped with a stone slate band and rounded coping stones. The bridge forms a group with West Stonehouse farmhouse to the east and a lime kiln located approximately 30 meters to the south.
