Description
Colton House and The Grange is a building dating from 1723 that has been converted into two houses. It is constructed of ashlar with a graduated stone slate roof and has two storeys with seven bays. The central bay features a full-height gabled porch with a board door, moulded architrave, convex frieze, and cornice. To the left of the right-hand bay, there is a 20th-century glazed door set in a moulded architrave. All windows are designed with flat-faced mullions and moulded architraves. On either side of the porch, there are two five-light windows. The first-floor band includes three two-light windows on either side of the porch, which also has a three-pane casement window above a stone panel inscribed with 'WC 1723'. The building is adorned with shaped kneelers and moulded stone coping, and features end stacks as well as one stack on the ridge.
