Description
Rose Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. It is constructed of ashlar and rubblestone, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and two bays. The central entrance features a half-glazed door set within a plain stone surround that has a simple cornice above it. This door is flanked by three-light flat-faced mullion windows. On the first floor, there are 4-pane casement windows from the 20th century, also in plain stone surrounds. The eaves are decorated with modillions, and there are two chimneys: one at the left end and one on the ridge. On the left side of the cottage, there is a two-light chamfered mullioned window. Inside, there is a large inglenook fireplace with a segmental stone arch.
