Description

The gates, railings, walls, and gate piers beside the South Lodge of the Bolton Estate date from the late 18th century. They feature wrought-iron gates and railings adorned with spear finials. The gate piers are made of ashlar and display chamfered rustication, necking, cornices, and ball finials. The low stone wall has ashlar coping beneath the railings and ends with square piers that also have ashlar capping.
