Description
Two memorials located approximately 74 metres west of the road in Middleton date back to the 18th century. Both monuments are made of ashlar stone. The tomb to the north features fielded panels on its sides and a moulded edge on the slab, which has a copper plate inscribed with the name of Mary Moore, who died in 1740. The tomb to the south is adorned with richly moulded lozenges on its sides and also has a moulded edge on the slab, although the inscription is illegible. These memorials are situated in a previously railed-off section of the graves belonging to the Moore family of Grimes Hall.
