Description

Rigmaden Bridge is a bridge over the River Lune, built in the 1880s. It features cast and wrought iron, along with stone and brick materials. The bridge has stone abutments topped with stone-coped brick parapets. At the east end, there is a round arch designed to manage flood water, which includes a pier with a triangular cutwater. The deck of the bridge is supported by a triangular girder construction and includes an enriched frieze and beam ends. Additionally, the bridge has a cast iron parapet adorned with decorative panels. It was constructed for the Rigmaden estate.
