Description
Applegarth is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century or early 19th century, with a later addition. It features dressed squared limestone with sandstone ashlar dressings, while the addition is roughcast and has a slate roof. The west facade is two storeys high and consists of four bays, with the fourth bay being the addition that breaks back. There is a base round 1st floor sill band and quoins. The windows have ashlar surrounds and are sashed with glazing bars. The entrance in the second bay has a six-fielded panelled door with two glazed panels and an overlight. A round-headed wrought-iron porch with scrollwork and lattice sides adorns the entrance. The building has gable-end stacks and a cross-axial stack. The rear is similar to the front and includes a small gabled wing.
